Propylene Glycol (Food Grade) 15 Gallon

Propylene Glycol Food Grade / USPby Duda EnergyPropylene glycol is a viscous, oily fluid which is commonly used in many products. Food grade propylene is safe for drinking and is non-toxic. It is often used as a food preservative, a non-toxic antifreeze, a humectant (to keep foods moist), solvent (ink jet printer cleaning), and in food refrigerant applications, such as in making icecream. For antifreeze applications, we recommend using no more than a 60% by weight solution in distilled water. Water has a high specific heat capacity, so only the appropriate percentage should be use to prevent freezing and boiling. Excessive use of propylene glycol will cause the antifreeze to lose its ability to retain sudden increases in heat and often cause system failure, especially in vehicles. (This is the same rule for ethylene glycol as all) Use the following table as a guide for your antifreeze application.

Propylene glycol is an important raw material for unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, and polyurethane resin. The amount in this area accounts for about 45% of the total consumption of propylene glycol. This unsaturated polyester is used in large quantities for surface coatings and reinforced plastics. Propylene glycol has good viscosity and hygroscopicity and is non-toxic, so it is widely used as a moisture absorbent, antifreeze, lubricant, and solvent in food, medicine, and cosmetic industries. In the food industry, propylene glycol and fatty acids react to produce propylene glycol fatty acid esters, which are mainly used as food emulsifiers; propylene glycol is an excellent solvent for seasonings and pigments. In the pharmaceutical industry, propylene glycol is often used as a solvent, softener, and excipient for the manufacture of various ointments and ointments. Because propylene glycol has good compatibility with various spices, it is also used as a solvent and softener for cosmetics.

Dosage: Drench with 8 ounces twice daily for 3-4 days, then 4 ounces twice daily for 3 days. May be put on feed.
