Fura-Zone Nitrofurazone Ointment is a water-soluble antibacterial ointment for the prevention or treatment of surface bacterial infections of wounds, burns, and cutaneous ulcers. For use only on horses (not for food use). May also be used as a sweat. 0.2% Nitrofurazone in a water-soluble base. Nitrofurazone has been shown to produce mammary tumors in rats and ovarian tumors in mice. Fura-Zone is for the prevention or treatment of surface bacterial infections of wounds, burns, and cutaneous ulcers in horses. May also be used as a sweat.This topical preparation contains the active ingredient Nitrofurazone and provides antibacterial activity against a wide range of bacteria. Fura-Zone is a water-soluble ointment ideal for use on minor surface wounds, lesions, burns and cutaneous ulcers. Apply fura-zone directly to the lesion with a spatula, or first place on a piece of gauze. Application of a bandage is optional. Fura-zone should be in contact with the lesion for at least 24 hours. 0.2% Nitrofurazone In A Water-Soluble Base Of Polyethylene Glycols. Antibacterial preparation for topical application in horses.
