Express Dehorner Gas Cartridge

Lightweight, economical propane-powered dehorner. Reaches operating temperature in 70 seconds. Operates for more than 10 hours with one 14.1 oz propane cylinder. Features a built-in hook for hanging. High Power Fuel Cartridge (may be used with models 134, 134G, 135G, 144 and 144G). ORM-D material - item is not able to ship via air. Extra Fuel Cartridge for Express Dehorner contains a specially formulated butane/propane mix that lasts from 2 to 5 hours. The only fuel cartridge that will work with the Express Dehorner.

It is recommended to give a local analgesic to any animal that is being dehorned. Restrain the animal and use a halter and lead-rope to steady the calf’s head. Clip the hair around the base of the horn. Allow the dehorner to heat up completely.
Use the correct sized tip so it makes a 1/4-inch ring around the horn. Place the dehorner over the horn and apply even pressure. Let the dehorner sit, 10 to 15 seconds. When the dehorner is removed, there should be an even, copper-colored circle around the horn. If the circle is not there, replace the dehorner for another 10 seconds. The horn bud can be scooped out or allowed to slough off.
