CLS Clarify Larvicide [25 lb]

As a feed additive, ClariFly Larvicide is incorporated into an animal’s feed to stop flies in their larval stage. Adding this ingredient to their feed ration is all the work an employee needs to do to reduce disease-carrying fly populations on an operation. A feed-through larvicide to prevent house flies, stable flies, face flies and horn flies from developing in and emerging from the manure of treated calves. Can be added directly to milk or milk replacer. Prevents the exoskeleton from developing in larva, stopping them from becoming adults. Easy to use and non-toxic; will not harm other animals or humans. Reduces spray pesticide use, so there's less human and animal pesticide exposure, lowers animal resistance to pesticides and reduces groundwater contamination.

Intended to be added daily to whole milk or reconstituted milk replacers to control house flies, stable flies, face flies and horn flies which develop in manure of beef and dairy calves, including veal calves. Use as part of an integrated pest management program aimed at reducing fly populations in the calf's environment. In order to achieve optimum fly control, use in conjunction with Starbar premise and on-animal products, as well as good management and sanitation practices.

Directions
Contains 0.16% diflubenzuron, which prevents the development of house flies, stable flies, face flies and horn flies in the manure of treated calves, but is not effective against existing adult flies. Start feeding this product early in the spring, 30 days before flies begin to appear, and continue feeding throughout the summer and into the fall until cold weather restricts fly activity. In some cases, supplemental fly control measures may be needed in and around calf hutches to control adult house and stable flies which can breed in other decaying organic matter or silage in the area, or that migrate in from other locations. Each animal must receive 0.1 oz per 100 lbs of body weight, which equates to 0.1 mg diflubenzuron/kg body weight per day. Prepare the whole milk or reconstituted milk replacer for each individual calf. Add appropriate amount for the calf's weight according to product label. Mix thoroughly and feed entire portion immediately. Repeat daily. See package for mixing and feeding instructions for multiple calves.
